What are the technical requirements for the online exam?

The course follows the official PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabus. The accredited training materials are cross referenced to areas of the exam so that you are fully prepared. During the course, you practice with the latest exam papers from PEOPLECERT International. Day 4-5 of the course are dedicated to practicing for your Practitioner exam and our expert trainer will guide you through a series of exercises and discussions to get you ready for the exam itself.

How long does my PRINCE2 qualification last?

The PRINCE2 certificates are valid 3 years.
You can join the PeopleCert Plus membership for a small fee, maintain your digital badge and certification by recording 20 points of continuous development per year at the same time you record PDUs. Otherwise retaking the exams after 3 years will be costly.

If you don’t pass an exam you can do a re-sit. We will send you a new voucher code for an additional fee. How do I prepare for PRINCE2 training?
You have about 10-20 hours of preparation to do before you attend the PRINCE2 virtual course. Before the class, we will send you the official PRINCE2 manual: “Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2” as well as a reading list and sample exam questions. During the pre-course, you read key chapters of the manual and answer exam questions to test your knowledge and understanding. It seems a lot at first but the more work you can do in advance of the course, the better.  Even if you don’t 100% understand things before you come along – don’t worry. If you’ve done the work, our trainers are experts in PRINCE2. We’ll get you understanding the method in no time at all.
How does the virtual class work?
You connect to the online platform (Zoom) and the instructor will deliver the course to you wherever you are. We ask that you keep your camera open as much as possible so that the trainer can get a good sense of how learning is evolving. Some time periods will be allocated for questions, interactive exercises, lunch and breaks.
I am a PMP, do I get credit for prior learning?
Yes, if you are a current PMP or CAPM you are not required to take the PRINCE2 Foundation exam. You still need to gain Foundation level knowledge of PRINCE2 but it’s one less exam to worry about.
Do I need to log project management experience before the course?
No. PRINCE2 does not require you to log hours of project management experience before training. The PRINCE2 approach is a bit like learning to drive: you certify and then practice.
Why should I get both PRINCE2 and PMP certifications?
PRINCE2 and PMP are useful and complementary tools in your skill set – they don’t compete. Certification in the PRINCE2 methodology is an excellent complement to your PMP credential and awards PDUs for learning. The two certifications cover different sides of the project management coin. They increase your earning potential, enhance your skills and improve your employability PRINCE2 and PMP are the most popular global project management certifications, but they are different:

  • PRINCE2 is a project management methodology – it covers, in detail, the processes and activities which a project management team must carry out to deliver a project of value to the sponsoring organization.
  • The PMP credential, based on the PMBOK Guide, is the sum of knowledge of the project management profession. It covers what is generally accepted on most projects, most of the time.

The proctor will ask you to rotate your webcam in order to verify the area. Your desk must be clean of papers, books or notes. Glass walls and/or doors are prohibited unless they are covered. You will be asked to position yourself in a way that doors are behind you and visible to the proctor through the webcam.
