The Certified Green Project Manager – Basic (GPM-b) is the foundational, knowledge-based certification that supports the commitment of those in project management to maximize sustainability within the project lifecycle, to improve the construct and delivery of goods and services produced as project deliverables, and to use measurable standards to consider and account for environmental impacts in projects.

The GPM-b certification is the first project management credential for individuals that allows them to demonstrate their knowledge in delivering projects using sustainable methods.

Exam:

Which exam is included in this course? This course includes the GPM-b exam. Green PM exam The exam is designed to test your knowledge and understanding. Candidates may qualify for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and do only the short exam. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will be granted for any of the following credentials (current or expired):

  • Master’s Degree in Project or Program Management from an accredited college or university
  • Master’s Degree in Sustainability or Sustainable Development, with a concentration in Project or Program Management, from an accredited college or university
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Project or Program Management, from an accredited college or university
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, with a concentration in Project or Program Management, from an accredited college or university
  • AIPM certification, CPPM, CPSPM, or CPPD
  • IPMA certification, Level A, B, C, or D
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner
  • PMI certification, PMP or PgMP
  • Other credentials with the advance, written approval of GPM’s Director of Certification

Exam Format

  • Without RPL: 150 questions in 3 hours
  • With RPL: 75 questions in 1.5 Hours
  • Pass mark is 70%
  • Exams are conducted online

When is the exam taken? After the virtual course, we will send you a link. You will be able to schedule the exam and take it online from home. How long does my qualification last? The Green Project Manager certification is valid for 5 years before being renewed. What happens if I don’t pass the exam? If you do not pass the exam, you can do a re-sit. We will send you a new voucher code for an additional fee.

What are the class hours?
For most of our virtual classes, the Green PM course is Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday. Start time for the Western classes is usually 8h30 a.m. or 9h00 a.m. Central time zone, and for Eastern classes 8h30 a.m. or 9h00 a.m. Eastern time zone. You can check our schedule for more details.
How do I prepare for training?
Before the course, we will send you the two guides associated with the course. During preparation, you read key chapters. Even if you don’t understand things before attending, don’t worry. Our trainers are experts. We’ll help you figure out the method in no time.
How does the virtual class work?
You connect to the online platform (Zoom) and the instructor will deliver the course to you wherever you are. We ask that you keep your camera open as much as possible so that the trainer can get a good sense of how learning is evolving. Some time periods will be allocated for questions, interactive exercises, lunch and breaks.
Can exams be taken on paper?
No. The GPM Global group only offers online exams.
How many PDUs do I get for this course?
PMPs can claim 28 PDUs at the PMI for the Green PM virtual course. (12 Ways of working PDUs, 6 Power skills PDUs, 10 Business acumen PDUs).
