MSP® Re-Registration

Why should I take the Managing Successful Programmes Re-Registration course?

MSP LogoThe MSP Re-registration course shows your continuing ability to lead MSP programs. Having the MSP Re-registration certification shows that you have maintained your knowledge and skills at the Practitioner level and in line with the latest version of the MSP methodology. If you are a program manager who took MSP Practitioner 5 years ago you should renew your Registered Practitioner status. The course prepares you for the short exam with examples, practice sessions and trainer tips using the latest MSP Practitioner level papers.

Anyone who has been certified MSP practitioner and wishes to maintain the certification.

  • 1.5-days classroom training from a MSP Approved Trainer
  • Accredited course material including sample exam questions

  • 17 PDUs if you are a PMP

What will I learn:

The course is designed to prepare you for the MSP Re-Registration exam. 2 areas are important: to get your knowledge to the Practitioner level and ensure you are fully prepared for the Practitioner exam.  During the course, you will:

  • Receive tips and technique for the Re-Registration exam
  • Learn how to successfully answer different question types

This class is only a preparation review of the Practitioner exam. You must refresh your Foundation level before attending. We will provide in advance an approach to study with the latest sample exams.

What are the course prerequisites:

You must have passed the MSP Practitioner exam in the past to attend this course. You need to complete about 5 hours of study before the course. We’ll provide the pre-course preparation.

If you haven’t worked with MSP in a while, it might be best to attend the Foundation class and get a refresher. This course is a review of a Practitioner sample exam and focuses on preparing you for the short Re-Registration exam, otherwise it is expected that you have read the manual and done the refresher on your own prior to attending.

When is the exam taken?

Your Practitioner exam is taken on Friday.

How does the course prepare me for the MSP Re-Registration exam?

The course follows the official MSP Practitioner exam syllabus. During the course, you practice with the latest exam papers. You also do exam questions for homework in the evening. The first day of this course is dedicated to practice for your Practitioner exam and our expert trainer will guide you through a series of exercises and discussions to get you ready for the exam itself.

Can I re-register with the long Practitioner exam?

Yes. It is possible for an additional fee. The short Re-Registration only has 3 topics. If you were less prepared for 1 or 2 of them, points will go down fast. Whereas the long Practitioner version of the exam has 8 topics, thus wrong answers have a lesser impact on the total score.

Do I need ID for the MSP exam?

You must bring photographic ID with you. A driver’s license or passport is fine. A work ID, with photograph, is also acceptable.

How long does my MSP qualification last?

The Practitioner qualification must be renewed every 5 years to maintain your status as a MSP Registered Practitioner.

What happens if I don’t pass a MSP exam?

If you don’t pass the Re-Registration exam you will find this out by email a week after taking the class. You can retake the Re-Registration exam online 24/7 for an additional fee.

Can I just take the MSP exam with you?

Sorry, no. We are an Accredited Training Organization for MSP, so we are not permitted to offer just exams.

Your Practitioner qualification lapses, and you can no longer use the designation “MSP Registered Practitioner.” Some organizations in Canada require you to be a currently certified MSP Practitioner to manage programs with them.

I didn’t take MSP Practitioner with Advantage Learning/Okazy, can I still re-register with you?

Yes. When registering for the exam you will be required to upload your MSP Practitioner certificate in .PDF format. We can help you to locate your certificate or refer you to the proper resources.

Can I take the full week class again to re-register?

Yes. Quite a few students find this helpful. If you haven’t used MSP much or you qualified on an older version, we recommend you consider this approach. You would attend the full-week class. You don’t need to take the Foundation exam again so the pressure is off there, and you can concentrate on getting ready for the Re-Registration exam
