What are the course prerequisites?

You must have passed the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam to attend this course. It will be helpful if you have been working in a PRINCE2 project environment during the last 5 years as this is a short course focused on exam success. This event requires some pre-course study and the amount will vary depending on your recent experience of PRINCE2 and which edition of the method you originally certified on.  You can expect about 10-20 hours of study before the course. We'll provide the pre-course preparation.

You must have your copy of the current version of the Official PRINCE2 manual:  "Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2"

If you haven’t worked with PRINCE2 in a while, it might be best to attend the Foundation class and get a refresher. This course is a review of a Practitioner sample exam and focuses on preparing you for that level, otherwise it is expected that you have read the manual and done the refresher on your own prior to attending.

What are the course contents?

This is the official PRINCE2 Practitioner course approved by Peoplecert. The course covers the complete PRINCE2 syllabus to Practitioner level and includes examination practice.

How does the course prepare me for the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The course follows the official PRINCE2 Practitioner exam syllabus. During the course, you practice with the latest exam papers. You also do exam questions for homework in the evening. The first day of this course is dedicated to practice a sample Practitioner exam and our expert trainer will guide you through a series of exercises and discussions to get you ready for the exam itself.

Do I need ID for the PRINCE2 exam?

You must bring photographic ID with you. A driver's license or passport is fine. A work ID, with photograph, is also acceptable.

How long does my PRINCE2 qualification last?

The Practitioner qualification must be renewed every 3 years to maintain your status as an PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner.

Registered practitioners certified under version 2017 will have the option of adhering to the Axelos Membership program (Free the 1st year) and earn 20 CPD points every year to remain current.

What happens if I don't pass a PRINCE2 exam?

If you don't pass the exam you will find this out by email a few weeks after taking the class. We'll send you your score and a question by question breakdown of your paper. You can retake the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam at the next class or online for an additional fee.

Can I just take the PRINCE2 exam with you?

Sorry, no. We are an Accredited Training Organization for PRINCE2 so we are not permitted to offer just exams.

FAQS

When should I re-certify?

You can re-certify for PRINCE2 within 5 years of your last Practitioner exam. The earliest you can take the exam is 3 years after your last Practitioner exam. If your Practitioner certification is expired, you do not need to retake the Foundation course, and can take only the Practitioner exam.

What happens if I don’t re-register?

Your Practitioner qualification lapses and you can no longer use the designation “PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner.”  Some organizations in Canada require you to be a currently certified PRINCE2 Practitioner to manage projects with them.

I didn’t take PRINCE2 Practitioner with Advantage Learning Canada/Okazy, can I still register with you?

Yes. We just need to know your Practitioner certificate number to enroll you for the Re-registration course.

Where is the class held?

Our courses are held at quality downtown venues in all major Canadian cities. You will be close to transport links and parking.

What are the class hours?

  • Thursday -> Friday: 8.30 AM to 4:30 PM

  • On Friday, the class may finish early after your exam.

How much preparation is required?

You have about 10-20 hours of preparation to do before you attend the PRINCE2 Re-Registration course.  You will receive guidance on how to refresh your knowledge to the Practitioner level and an experienced trainer is always available, by email, to support your preparation.

Can I take the 5-day class again to Re-Register?

Yes. Quite a few students find this helpful. If you haven’t used PRINCE2 much or you qualified on an older version we recommend you consider this approach.  You would attend the 5-day class and learn the new version of PRINCE2.  You don’t need to take the Foundation exam again so the pressure is off there, and you can concentrate on getting ready for the Re-Registration or Practitioner exam.  We can give you advice on which option would be best for you.

Do I get the PRINCE2 manual with this course?

The latest PRINCE2 manual is included with this course.

Where do I find my PRINCE2 Practitioner information?

You must have passed the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam previously to take this class.  When registering you will be required to provide your Practitioner certificate number or a .PDF copy. If you have done the Practitioner training with us, we will have this information in our database, otherwise we can help you to locate this information.
